Question 1
Question 2
If I have to rate my computer skills, I would not really know how to put it. I know how to use the common software that we have in the laptops but I would not say I'm at expert at those things. Perhaps I'll just rate myself as a savvy user. I know the basics and I'm able to explore things on my own when I need to.
Question 3
I do know how to use the common Microsoft Office software and I've used Autoplay before and of course, the SPSS during our Basic Data Analysis course. I did learn on how to create a website using HTML when I was in Kolej Yayasan Saad. We need to take a test on that. I did pass the test and get a certificate for it, but I don't think I can still do it now. And even if I could, I wouldn't choose to do it because it takes up a lot of time to finish.
Question 4
I believe we all have at some point learned via the computer because a few semesters back, when the faculty decided to make full use of the i-Learn, the lecturers made it compulsory for us to participate in the discussion on i-Learn, so I guess that was one of them. And also one of the lecturers made it a bit more fun by using the Padlet. Unfortunately, I personally believe that either way, the discussion did not work as how it should be because it's either nobody responded to the posts or nobody posted anything at all.
Question 5
I did make use of the computer using practicum, but I think it wasn't much because of the lack of facilities that we have in the school. So all that I did with my students was making use of recordings for the listening activities and also to teach grammar with the recording.
Question 6
Personally, I think it is important. However, it depends on how it is being used and implemented. Yes, when I was doing my practicum, even something as simple as using the recording excites them, but that was maybe because they don't have that kind of lesson everyday. If it were to be thoroughly used in teaching and learning, innovations have to be made to make sure that every lesson is still fun and effective. Things like distractions from letting the students go online should be considered. But, all in all, the importance of it cannot be denied since the students nowadays are mostly technology savvy students.
Question 7
When I first knew about the course, I was a bit worried because I don't think I am creative enough to come out with a courseware and to think of a way to use it in a class is not easy. And I think after looking at the course outline, I still am worried. My worry is doubled as the amount of assignments is also doubled compared to the other courses. Having said that, I really hope that I will be able to learn how to create good courseware and also get some idea on how to incorporate it in a teaching and learning environment effectively. I hope I'll survive.
Question 8
I've decided to proceed with the topic that I've done during the Introduction to Research Method course which is The Relationship between Academic Achievement and Life Satisfaction. The reason for me to have chosen the topic in the very first place is because I feel that certain people overlook the importance of other things in life. Making the academic achievement as the most important aspect of life is not necessarily good, but that is what I feel. So I chose this topic because I want to see if others feel the same way too or maybe it's just me who's pressured by the expectation to achieve high. My supervisor is Miss Azyyati Zakaria. About submitting the AE on time, looking at where I am right now, I'm not that worried because I'm currently working on my Chapter 4 and my supervisor said that I still have a lot of time, so I think I have it done on time. However, what I'm really worried of is not the submission, but the grading. I don't know if it's good enough to get me a good grade, so yeah, I'm more worried about that. Let's hope we'll all survive this :)
